“Where You At Lord?” is not just a popular issue placed in a modern story with a few praise-Gods, thank you-Lords and well-crafted gospel songs. Grandma Claudie is a real ‘spare the rod, spoil the child’ kind of Christian. She lives her life by faith and not by sight. Grandma Claudie has converted her sister-in-law who was once a proud prostitute into a now proud Christian and her husband, who was once an everyday drinker and woman chaser, into a proud deacon.
When our story begins, Grandma Claudie is in the process of praying her daughter through rehab, and raising her two grandkids, Markus and Kimberly. All is well- not perfect; because God does not promise perfect, just peace, in the morning, after the storm.
Following a day of passing out blessings, God, Prayer and Praise run into Satan and his two demons, which are out scavenging the universe looking for consumable souls and lives they can destroy. In jest God asks Satan, how she feels about his servant Grandma Claudie. Satan’s response is that if God takes his hedge from around her, she will drop him like a bad habit. God gives Satan permission to touch her life and Satan sends in her troops: “Little Teeeeed Off’, “Grimy Disrespect” and “Strife”, who bring with them death, malice, mayhem and destruction. But remember, no weapon formed against us shall prosper.
‘Where You At Lord?" takes a look at alcoholism, drug addiction, youth violence, absent parents and over taxed grandparents. It inspires hope, cultivates faith and challenges the listening audience to change and grow. Every person will find a part in this story that they can relate to in their own lives. No matter what your struggle, you will find humor and joy. Some will renew, some will fortify their present faith, but all will be touched.
